34, 42, 44, 50 Pleasant Street and 65 Central Street
This is the residential section of Pleasant Street that slopes up from Chester’s business district. I was attracted by the variety of building styles all in one block.
34 Pleasant Street was the “post office” in the movie, “The Good House” starring Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver. It was filmed in 2019 when I drove up to spend Canadian Thanksgiving with my brother and his family and was released in September 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
If these drawings were ever displayed in a gallery, I would make sure that they would be mounted on the wall not in a straight row but staggered down a wall to suggest this sloping portion of Pleasant Street. 65 Central Street would be at the top left and 34 Pleasant Street at the bottom right
